From Colombia to Kamloops, ready to cut ice at B.C. short tracks

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Long Blades are hosting the B.C. short track speed skating championships at MacArthur Island this weekend.

128 skaters representing 19 B.C. clubs will be competing for qualification to the Western Canadian Championships.

All of the athletes are from B.C. —- except for one.

Isaiah Jessie Uribe is one of eight skaters from the Long Blades in the provincials.

Until this last September Isaiah had never been on skates before.
