Fatal crash in Kelowna

KELOWNA, B.C. — One person has died following a fatal collision between two cars and a semi-trailer truck last (Monday) night in Kelowna.

The crash happened around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 97 and Edwards Road.

RCMP report that a black Mitsubishi Lancer travelling north on 97 hit a southbound Kenworth truck turning left onto Edwards.  The car then hit a Chev Avalanche stopped at the lights before strikine a telephone pole.

The driver of the Mitsubishi died at the scene from injuries incurred.  Two other people went to hospital with minor injuries.

Police aren't releasing the drivers name, age or gender until next of kin are notified.
