KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops SPCA is appealing for public donations after a suspected animal abuse case.

The SPCA received Skitter B the cat as a stray and with serious injuries.

A good Samaritan who had been keeping tabs on the cat, noticed they didn’t see him for a few days.

The next time he was seen he was covered in blood and his own urine.

That’s when Skitter B was taken to the SPCA.

X-rays revealed the cat had two fractures in his spine and is unable to lift his tail.

The SPCA says the cat may have sustained his injuries because he was kicked from behind or kicked while being dangled by his tail.

The furry friend currently needs hospitalization, a catheter and antibiotics, though he has a positive prognosis given medical attention.

Skitter B’s medical costs and follow up care are expected to be over $1200 which is why the non for profit is seeking public help.

If you’re able to, you can drop off a donation in person at the shelter or call the office at (250)376-7722

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

Skitter B

Skitter B, affectionately nicknamed Shorty at the vet clinic, enjoys a break from his catheter. He can't decide between wandering to stretch his legs or cuddling with the ladies. We are seeking donations to help out with his cost of care which is estimated to reach well over a thousand dollars. Please share to help him get the care he needs.
