Police nab suspect; seize gun and drugs in Westsyde

KAMLOOPS — Traffic was disrupted along Westsyde Road at about 11:30 this morning, Thursday February 25, for a Kamloops RCMP takedown.

Corporal Cheryl Bush says the arrest involved someone known to police.

“A 20 year old Kamloops male was arrested for breaching a conditional sentence order and unauthorized possession of a firearm. The firearm of concern has since been located at his residence, as a result of a search warrant. Police also located a quantity of drugs at the residence. The male remains in custody and police will be completing a report to crown counsel with regards to charges.” said Cpl. Bush.

Bush says the quantity of drugs is not large.
