KAMLOOPS — It will come as no surprise that the KGHM-Ajax mine proposal will play a prominent role in council discussions Tuesday.

Chief among the items will be a notice of motion from Councillor Donovan Cavers. Cavers is asking council to request Ajax to publically release all weather-related data gathered on the property so far.

Cavers is suggesting KGHM officials release information he says has been incomplete to date.

That includes all raw data done as far back as 2006, the type of work done and by what equipment.

Cavers says in his notice of motion that of the limited information presented in the recent mine application, there is little information on things like the frequency of wind gusts, changes in wind direction and other atmospheric data that could impact the movement of dust and particulates.

On the other side of the coin, a delegation by two Kamloops men will outline some of the economic opportunities offered to Kamloops by the mine.

Jim Thomson and Mark Brown will appear as part of the relaxed delegation rules allowing public delegations to present comments on the mine proposal during the public comment period.
