KAMLOOPS — Transportation Minister Todd Stone has used the Thompson Rivers University bus loop as the background to highlight new transit funding included in this week’s budget.

Stone says the BC Transit operating budget for the next three years will be $12.7 million bigger than projected in last year’s budget.

He adds that means more service hours and new routes for the service throughout the province.

Kamloops Mayor Peter Milobar was on hand at today’s announcement, and says he anticipates Kamloops will benefit from the budget infusion.
