KAMLOOPS — The saga of the missing bike repair stations has come to a happy ending.

The two stations were found abandoned at separate locations on the Kamloops North Shore this week.

They were recovered by RCMP and bylaw staff.

The stations had been stolen from McArthur Island Park and Riverside Park late last month.

City of Kamloops Sustainability Services Supervisor Glen Cheetham says the stations are still usable.

“With a bit of TLC we will be able to get them back into service, one of them has all their tools missing, someone has removed every single tool that it typically comes with, as well it has some spray paint on it” said Cheetham adding “the other is actually in pretty darn good condition.”

Cheetham says the manufacturer, who supplies similar stations across North America, indicated this is the first recorded instance of them being stolen.
