KAMLOOPS — Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo MP Cathy McLeod says she's happy with the provincially-led environmental assessment process for the proposed Ajax mine, and the idea of changing processes concerns her.

In the past, McLeod sided with Kamloops council in pushing for a federal panel review.

But today, she told CFJC News changing the rules midway through the game makes her uncomfortable.

McLeod has previously facilitated meetings between Kamloops council and federal environment ministers to discuss the possibility of a panel review.

Council has pushed for a similar meeting with Liberal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna, but that has yet to be scheduled.
