TRU purchases Canadian Freightways property

KAMLOOPS — A day after the parent company of Canadian Freightways, Transforce, confirmed its Kamloops location would be shutting down next week, Thompson Rivers University says it's bought the property. 

TRU's Vice-President of Advancement Christopher Seguin confirming to CFJC Today the university purchased the lot on McGill Road October 31.

Seguin says the university feels the property is a key piece of land for future development, although it hasn't determined what it will include. The property lies near the southwest entrance to the campus.

Canadian Freightways is closing its Kamloops operation next Friday, February 12.
