RCMP investigating Valleyview hit and run

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are looking for a driver who left the scene after crashing into a pedestrian in Valleyview February 2.

It happened in a crosswalk near the intersection of Valleyview Drive and Comazetto Road  at about 4:20 pm.

Corporal Cheryl Bush says after the crash, the driver took off.

“The vehicle is described as a red or burgundy coloured small car, the vehicle was being driven by a male who appeared to be in his twenties, Caucasian with longer brown hair,” said Bush adding “One witness in the area stated that the red vehicle sped off Northbound on Comazzetto Road towards the highway and was closely followed by a white truck.”

Bush says the victim was a 17-year-old boy.

She notes he went home after he was hit, but was then taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
