FALKLAND, B.C. — A homeowner in Falkland escaped injury after a truck went off the road, took down a power pole and slammed into the house.

It’s not yet known what caused the crash this morning.

But resident Mandy Watson says speeding is an ongoing problem in the community, where the speed limit drops as the highway passes through.

Watson says they’ve tried a number of things to get drivers to slow down, including homemade signs.
