KAMLOOPS — Last weekend Karla Thompson won the B.C. women’s curling championship.

It marks the third time in the 65 years of the provincial playdown since 1951 that it’s been won by a rink from Kamloops.

Thompson’s victory follows that of Sue Garvey in 1998 and Allison MacInnes in 2008.

The 2016 champion skip played on that MacInnes rink.

Now Thompson will be skipping her own rink for a chance to play for the Canadian Scotties championship.
