VERNON., B.C. — Vernon Search and Rescue was called out Saturday morning to assist in the rescue of two overdue snowmobilers near Celista.

Search Manager Leigh Pearson says he got the call for mutual aid from Shuswap Search and Rescue.

“SSAR has requested that we respond with our helicopter rescue team to get two men out of a deep gully,” says Pearson.

The chopper left Vernon shortly after 8 o’clock January 23 and located the pair.
