Murder charges laid in Cariboo death

KAMLOOPS —  A 46-year old 100 Mile House man is facing first degree murder charges in the suspicious death of a 37 year old woman, Vesna Dumstrey-Soos, found dead in a residence in that community Monday morning. 

Michael Martel of 100 Mile House  appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on January 12 in 100 Mile House Provincial Court.
The woman was found after police followed up on a request to check on her after she failed to show up for work on Monday morning. The man was located and arrested shortly afterwards. 

100 Mile House RCMP say  they believe this to be an isolated incident where the two parties knew each other and the community is not at risk. 

Police says they won’t release any further information to protect the integrity of the investigation.
