KAMLOOPS — Shane Beatty won’t be returning as head coach of the Okanagan Sun next season.

A media release says the Sun and Beatty, who is from Kamloops, have mutually agreed to part ways, ending his three year sting as head coach of the B.C. Football Conference team.

In Beatty’s three seasons as head coach of the Sun they went 27-and-3 in league play, were undefeated in the B.C. Football Conference this past season and Beatty was named the Canadian Junior Football coach of the year.

In a statment Sun president Bill Long says “Being a head coach of a junior football team is a demanding and time consuming position.  Discussions after the season made it apparent that perhaps it was time for Shane to explore other opportunities.”
