KAMLOOPS — A trial date for the man accused of shooting and seriously injuring a Kamloops RCMP officer will be set later this month.

Kenneth Knutson was scheduled to have a hearing in BC Supreme Court today, January 4, to fix a date for his trial, but that was put forward two weeks to January 18.

Knutson is facing a charge of attempted murder after the December 2014 incident in Batchelor Heights.

Corporal J.R. Michaud was conducting a traffic stop when he was shot.
