One last push for Operation Red Nose volunteers

KAMLOOPS — Operation Red Nose is still looking for volunteers as it prepares for its busiest night of the year.

New Year’s Eve is also the last night of the season for the program.

Co-ordinator Katie Klassen says applications can still be dropped off.

“Our amazing partners at the RCMP have allowed us to have applications dropped until Wednesday to the end of the day,” said Klassen. “If people are still interested, we’re encouraging them to head to the RCMP office on Battle Street and fill out an application form and just come help us out.”

Klassen says last year, the program provided more than 180 rides for holiday revelers on New Year’s night alone.

She notes most of those rides are condensed into a two-hour window, so the program will need as many volunteers as possible to make it work.
