KAMLOOPS — There’s nothing quite like a real tree in your home during Christmas.

Having a natural tree in your home is more work than the artificial trees many people favour, it can also prove to be more of a safety concern especially if the tree isn’t fresh.

Once that tree is home, it’s important to prepare it properly, so it’ll last inside your home.

Then comes the lights and decorations, it’s important to ensure those are in good working condition, before you hang them on your tree.

Just like real estate, location is crucial when it comes to your Christmas tree, keep it away from any heat sources, like fireplaces, or space heaters - if you follow these simple tips, it could keep your holiday from turning into a raging inferno.
