KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: Environment Canada still have a Snowfall Warning in place for the Coquihalla highway after 19 centimetres fell overnight Saturday and into Sunday morning.

Meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau says about 25 centimetres fell on Highway 3 near Allison Pass.

“The heaviest snow we expected has ended as the system that brought the snow is moving inland and is weakening. However we do expect the snow will continue through the day with another 10 centimetres on the Coquihalla near the summit. Another 5 centimetres is possible overnight tonight”.

Charbonneau says “it looks like we’ll see improved conditions going into Monday”.

SATURDAY: Motorists should be aware of a snowfall warning for three Interior highways today. Thats as Environment Canada expects a strong storm system to move across B.C. this afternoon bringing heavy snow on mountain passes.

The warning is in effect for the Coquihalla between Merritt and Hope, Highway 3 Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass and Highway 3 Paulson Summit to Kootenay pass.

Meteorologist Trevor Smith says the Coquihalla will see the heaviest of snow up to 20 centimetres.

Smith says the snow will mostly fall tonight and be done by Sunday morning.

Motorists are urged to drive according to weather conditions.
