KAMLOOPS – The Portland Winterhawks defeated the Everett Silvertips 7-5 to pull into an 8th place tie with the Blazers in the Western Conference.
The Blazers have two games in hand.
In Spokane the Chiefs downed the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-2.
Seattle’s loss comes on the day they dropped out of the Canadian Hockey League top ten, after being ranked 9th last week.
Three Western League teams are in the top ten —– Kelowna at number four, Victoria 9th and Lethbridge 10th.
