Calgary Hitmen set world teddy bear record

CALGARY – The Calgary Hitmen set two records in a 2-1 shootout win over Swift Current Sunday in the Western HockeyLeague

It was teddy bear night in Calgary and a world record 28,815 stuffed toys hit the ice when the Hitmen scored their first goal.

The crowd was a sellout 19,289, making it the largest ever indoor crowd for a Western League game.

The Hitmen also hold the largest attendance record — 20,888 for an outdoor game at McMahon Stadium in 2011.
