Hockey Day in Canada to offer variety of entertainment

KAMLOOPS — The two-month countdown to Hockey Day in Canada is on. In 62 days, the spotlight will shine on Kamloops for four days of hockey and fun for families.

The emphasis is on hockey, but there will be other entertainment options for people during the four-day event. The festivities kick off in Sun Peaks on Wednesday, February 3 with outdoor skating and a visit from the Stanley Cup. There will also be live music. All events at Sun Peaks are free. 

The events in Kamloops start on Thursday, February 4 with a WHL alumni game at the Sandman Centre. The Music of Hockey is at Sandman Centre on the Friday. Saturday is Hockey Day in Canada and features a live broadcast with Ron McLean and Don Cherry at the Sandman Centre before the Blazers play Edmonton. 

The organizing committee has made all the events affordable, so everyone can enjoy. Tickets for the WHL alumni games is $5 for children and $10 for adults. The Music of Hockey event is $5 per ticket for everyone.
