Green Light to Discharge Water Outside Mount Polley

The province has given the go-ahead for the treatment and discharge of water outside the Mount Polley mine site.

The permit is needed as water levels in Springer Pit will reach capacity next April.

That’s where the existing tailings pond is on the mine site, near Likely, BC.

The approval was granted after a 30-day public consultation period and a technical review.
