KAMLOOPS — Police are investigating the death of a woman in the Shuswap which they are treating as suspicious.
The adult woman was found dead in a Lee Creek area residence west of Chase Friday evening after a report of a possible shooting.
The RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit are investigating the death in the 2500 block of Squilax Anglemont Road.
An adult male is in police custody following his arrest at the residence Saturday.
The victim’s name has not been released as next of kin are being notified.
“No public safety issues exist as a result of this matter. Investigators are unable to disclose any further details with respect to this investigation at this time,” says Cpl. Dan Moskaluk, Southeast District Advisory NCO (Media Relations).
