The Royal Canadian Legion has wrapped up it’s annual poppy campaign in Kamloops.

For decades the poppy has symbolized the sacrifices of Canadian Troops around the world. The poppy campaign is one of the Royal Canadian Legion’s most important fundraiser’s. The thousands of dollars raised each year goes to help with the Legion’s efforts in supporting veterans.

The legion also offers burseries for post secondary students who have a direct line to a war veteran. The money is still being counted but legion officials expect the total to be around $30,000. Last year’s campaign raised close to $70,000.
