Canada Post is putting its move away from door-to-door delivery on hold. The Crown corporation has announced it is suspending its transition to community mailboxes, expected to affected 460,000 homes in the next two months alone.

Patricia Nauss of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers in Kamloops says a recent questionnaire distributed in Kamloops found broad support for maintaining door-to-door delivery. Nauss adds today's move by Canada Post is encouraging as the union heard little from the Liberal party about the issue during the election campaign.
