Sun Rivers has received an honorable mention from Communities in  Bloom as delegates from across the country met in Kamloops over the weekend for the awards ceremony. Founding President Raymond Carriere says Sun Rivers was competing against communities from around the world in the International Challenge Category. He says the winner was Glenarm Village from Northern Ireland however Sun Rivers came very close. Carriere says Sun Rivers was given a 5 Bloom rating for it's flood control plan and also received an Outstanding Achievement Award for it's landscape design. Communities in Bloom judges visited all participating cities over the Summer months.
