Two Blazers and a player from the Merritt Centennials are on the NHL central scouting preliminary “players to watch” list for the 2016 NHL draft.

Ondrej Vala and Jake Kryski are among 40 Western Hockey League players on the list.

Vala, a 6-4 defenceman from the Czech Republic, was the Blazers pick in this years Canadian Hockey League import draft.

Kryski, a forward, is in his second season — and has a goal and two assists in the first two games this season.

Players have been rated on a grading system that gives an “A” as a potential first round candidate, a “B” for second or third round and a “C” for fourth, fifth or sixth round potential.

Vala has been given a “B”, while Kryski gets a “C”.

Merritt Centennials forward Colin Grannary is also on the “players to watch” list, with a “C” rating.

Altogether there are more than 350 players on the players to watch list.
