Thrill-seeking residents of Kamloops can mark it in their calendars, a date has been chosen for an American event called “Slide the City”. According to the people at Tranquille Farm Fresh, a 1,000-foot waterslide is being rolled out on Hillside Drive between Aberdeen Mall and Walmart, on Saturday July 18th. Tickets for the water-logged event go on sale Wednesday.

The slide has been set up in cities across North America, and in two months, it will roll out into Kamloops. It’s hoped that 4,000-6,000 people will take part in the day-long event. Tickets cost between $15 and $60 a pop, depending on how many times you slide.

Volunteers are being sought for the event. Tickets will be available at www.slidethecity.com, and discounted tickets will be available through the Tranquille Farm Fresh website, www.tranquillefarmfresh.com.
