ALEXIS CREEK, B.C. — A power outage has spoiled a quantity of COVID-19 vaccine doses meant for the Cariboo First Nations community of Anaham, about 100 kilometres west of Williams Lake.

The revelation came via a memo to the community from the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), posted on the Anaham Sage Health Clinic Facebook page.

It’s not known how many doses were affected.

According to the memo, a power outage that knocked out the community’s vaccine fridge broke the “cold chain” necessary for the survival of the Moderna vaccine.
